The Serious Case Reviews into abuse in childcare settings & schools identifies just how crucial it is for all staff, employed & volunteering, teaching & non-teaching, to have a clear understanding of what abuse is and of their individual responsibility to use the settings/schools procedures for reporting any concerns.

The course covers:
- Legislation, policies and procedures in relation to Safeguarding
- Duty of Care and what this means
- PREVENT Duty
- Different types of abuse including; physical, emotional, sexual, bullying, neglect, FGM, domestic violence, child sexual exploitation, fabricated or induced illness, radicalisation
- How to recognise abuse in children
- Whistle blowing
- How to respond to concerns and disclosure of abuse
- Groups and agencies involved in the protection of children
- Record keeping
- Boundaries and confidentiality
- Recognising and responding to childhood illness & injuries
- Risks and consequences of the internet, social media and mobile phones
- Emergency procedures
The course will be 9.30am to 1.30pm when delivered at Eden Training.
On the day a certificate of attendance will be given detailing the course content.
The course can be delivered as attendance only for just £40.
If you would like to complete the workbook at home and gain the NCFE Cache accredited certificate, the course costs £75.
Specific content for individual schools/settings can be included in the course if required and flexible times can be arranged if at the workplace (3.5 hours).
