This qualification is ideal for you if you have already completed the Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or the Level 2 Certificate for the Children & Young People’s Workforce, as you will already have a basic understanding of the unit subject matter; undertaking the Level 3 Diploma will allow you to build on this knowledge and apply it in real work settings.
This qualification will provide you with a secure understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children or young people in school environments. It is suitable for teaching assistants, learning support assistants, parent support advisors, learning mentors or those in similar roles at level 3.
What knowledge and skills will this qualification give you?
Completion of this qualification will equip you with the essential knowledge and skills required to work in an unsupervised support role within a school setting, for example: planning and preparing for learning activities, using assessment strategies to promote learning, responding to challenging behaviour and managing risks to health, safety and security in a work setting and off-site visits.
You work at your own pace but should expect to take around 12 months to complete your course. We encourage learners to use our e-portfolio system – Learning Assistant.
Input includes attendance at Eden Training to develop the skills you need, through structured teaching sessions, this is discussed and agreed at interview.
